On April 29, 2002, I became proud owner of a 1994 Montego Blue Touring RX-7. I bought it from the original
owner, a gentlemen from San Francisco, in completely stock form. My decision to buy the FD was very impulsive.
With the economy being pretty slow I was on "the beach" and not doing much. So instead of taking up golf or reading I
decided to get myself a project car, something I could slowly build up to become a nice little track car.
Not the most financially responsible decision, but I figured you only live once, and worst case scenario I could
just sell the FD. And that is how it all started.
Since then I've been slowly upgrading the already potent, 1.3-liter, twin-turbo sports car and in the process
have become a "rotor head." Eight years have elapsed since the last FD was imported from Japan, yet I cannot think of
any high performance car available today that can match the performance, handling, styling and character of the third
generation RX-7 for the money. It truly is a legendary sports car.
Update - April 1, 2005
Sale pending. Since my clutch problem last year the FD has been just sitting in my garage. The owners of the garage are
threatening to tow it. At this point I can't justify spending anymore money on my beloved RX-7 so it's being sold. But like my
first love, I'll always have a special place in my heart reserve for the RX-7.
Continue to service record,
driving experience or performance upgrades.
